Where did the time go!?

So although I have posted a million and one pictures, I haven’t actually written anything since Lexi was born!! It is SO hard to believe that on Sunday she turned 2 months old! The time, like everyone always says, just flew by. I cannot put into words how much I love our little girl. She is so special and such a joy to our little family. The first six weeks, I have to admit, were veery rough! Lexi hardly ever slept day or night, we were having troubles breastfeeding, and her tummy was bothering her all the time so she was really fussy. I have to say though now that she is smiling and “talking” to us those first six weeks seem like a distant memory. Even though there were nights where Steven and I vowed we were not having any more kids, we made it through and (don’t worry) we no longer plan on Lexi being an only child! I never get sick of seeing Lexi’s sweet sweet smile and hearing her absolutely adorable little noises, in fact I love it more every time! She is very social and has been a little charmer every time we take her somewhere to show her off! She has impressed us since day one with how strong she is. It must have been all of the karate moves she was doing in my tummy :) She has been able to hold her head up since day one and has been standing by herself with only us there to balance her for weeks! Yesterday was her 2 month check up and while we were waiting for the doctor to come in Lexi came SOO close to rolling over! We must have sounded crazy to the people outside the room because we were getting so excited for her! I don’t think it will be long before she follows in her cousin Cooper’s footsteps and starts rolling over ( well before she is “supposed” to be able to!) She weighed 10 lbs 8 oz and was 22 inches long at her appointment. She also got her immunizations-FIVE shots and an oral one...yes I said it FIVE shots. They didn’t combine any of them. I am not sure who cried harder Lexi or mom! I thought I could handle staying in the room..but I was very wrong! I am so thankful Steven was able to be there so he could stay with her in the room. She was pretty sore last night and was crying in pain for several hours. It was a cry I have never heard before and one that I don’t ever want to hear again! It completely broke my heart! Thankfully she is back to her cheery self today and I am more thankful than ever that she is a healthy baby!! I have said before the only thing I have ever wanted to be is a mom and I have to say it is better than I ever could have imagined. The joy she brings into my life is just unexplainable. I love that little girl more than anything and would do absolutely anything for her. I LOVE that she is old enough now to acknowledge that she knows I am her mom, it makes me feel so good! Being a stay at home mom is definitely a full time job, but it is the best job! Even when I have to wash our sheets 3 days in a row, change both mine and Lexi’s outfits several times a day, and clean the carpet when I started changing a diaper just a minute too early.. I wouldn’t change it for the world! I’m positive Lexi will keep us on our toes as she continues to grow and develop- she is definitely a strong willed little girl (We have no idea where she gets it from! :) ) but we are up for the challenge! She is a perfect addition to our family and, even though we may be biased, we think she is the cutest little girl we have ever seen!
